Meet Founder & Instructor Jennifer Prather, MATS

Jennifer Prather is a veteran in Catholic education with more than 20 years of experience in the Theology classroom and parish settings. She graduated summa cum laude in 2020 with her master’s degree in Theological Studies from Notre Dame Seminary and Graduate School of Theology in New Orleans, Louisiana.

In addition to working as a full-time classroom teacher, Jennifer also founded Image and Gift Ministries, which strives to educate Catholic Christians in an authentic understanding of the Catholic vision of the human person. This ministry of teaching has taken her to several dioceses in the United States and has led to a certificate program offered online at the international level with students from eight countries. She has also authored and facilitated several retreats, available and adaptable for multiple audiences.

Through her ministry, she has also partnered with Dioceses and the international group, Couples for Christ, offering formation in Christian anthropology to parish catechists, Catholic school employees, and lay Catholics around the world.

Jennifer recently published her first rosary devotional, Five Hidden Sorrows of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and is in the process of completing her first book, Formed for Glory: The Catholic Vision of the Human Person. She is also authoring the textbook, In His Image, for use in the Theology classroom in high schools and parishes based on the original curriculum she wrote to teach teens the Catholic understanding of the identity of the human person.

Jennifer currently resides in Denham Springs, Louisiana with her husband, Duffy, where they are members of Immaculate Conception Parish.

Meet the Team

  • Father Taylor Sanford

    SPIRITUAL ADVISOR

I was born and raised in Baton Rouge in a Catholic home with my younger brother, attending St. George School and Church. In high school I was an avid runner and proud member of the “orange wave” of Catholic High under the legendary Coach Pete Boudreaux.

I first felt the Lord calling me to the priesthood in my senior year during a time of Eucharistic Adoration on a summer mission trip in 2010 through the St. George youth group. But lacking trust, I just pushed the thought to the back of my mind and went on to LSU to study chemical engineering. It was at the Catholic Student Center on campus (Christ the King) that I fell in love with Jesus Christ and desired to lay down my life for His Bride, the Church. But it was not that easy of a decision. It was accompanied with much prayer, discernment, and typical millennial angst, until my heart finally found peace in entering seminary after graduation. "It was not you who chose me, says the Lord, but I who chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit, fruit that will last."
